This page only sends the verification code to your inbox. You enter the code inside the desktop client, which creates the account and binds the device — new accounts get a 7-day weekly membership.
Why not enter the code here?
The free weekly membership allows one device, and that slot locks on sign-in. If you completed verification in a browser, the browser would hold the slot and your first client sign-in would have to evict it. So the website only sends the code and verification happens in the client.

Download and install the client
Either the Windows installer or the portable build; run as administrator.

Sign in and enter the code
Use the same address and paste the code. A new address is registered automatically.
Sign-up gift
New accounts get a 7-day weekly membership (full features, 1 device, 20GB cloud). Once per account, and once per device globally. Accounts that already hold a license key are not granted the gift again.
